Exam Format

Module 1

Basics of language teaching
1 hour and 20 minutes

This module tests your knowledge of the terms and concepts necessary for teaching the English language. It focuses on the factors that support the learning of English.

TKT: Module 1 consists of one test.
It lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes and contains 80 questions.

The test is divided into three parts:
  • Description of language and linguistic skills
    (40 questions)
  • Bases for language learning
    (15 questions)
  • Bases for language teaching
    (25 questions)
Module 2

Lesson planning and use of resources in language teaching
1 hour 20 minutes

This module focuses on the knowledge and skills necessary to plan a lesson or series of lessons. It also places emphasis on linguistic and methodological resources that can guide you in planning.

TKT: Module 2 consists of a test.
It lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes and contains 80 questions.

The test is divided into two parts:
  • Lesson planning and preparation or lesson sequence
    (40 questions)
  • Selection and use of resources and materials
    (40 questions)
Module 3

Management of the class and the learning process 
1 hour and 20 minutes

This module assesses knowledge of what happens in the classroom during class, the role of the teacher in controlling the class, and the methods used to direct and generate maximum interaction in the classroom.

TKT: Module 3 consists of a test. It lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes and contains 80 questions. 

The test is divided into two parts:
  • The language of the teacher and the student in the classroom
    (40 questions)
  • Class management
    (40 questions)
CLIL

Content and Language Integrated Learning 
1 hour and 20 minutes

TKT: CLIL assesses knowledge of the objectives and logic of a CLIL approach. Covers CLIL planning, teaching and assessment. It also focuses on teachers' awareness of learning demands and support strategies for learners in CLIL programmes.

TKT: CLIL consists of a test. It lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes and contains 80 questions.

The test is divided into four parts:
  • Knowledge of CLIL principles
  • Lesson preparation in the CLIL context
  • Development of class
  • Assessment
YL

Young Learners – 1 hour and 20 minutes

TKT: Young Learners is an exam for teachers and classroom assistants who want to teach English to young students. It tests knowledge of concepts related to the learning and development of these types of students and their knowledge from a teaching perspective, including planning, teaching and evaluating the work of young students.

TKT: Young Learners consists of one test. It lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes and contains 80 questions.

The test is divided into four parts:
  • Learning and development
  • Lesson planning
  • Teaching strategies
  • Classroom Behavior Assessment
